STEP Play — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies only to the STEP Play mobile application. It does not cover Talk Academy's language-school services, or any other website or service.
1. About the service
STEP Play is a study app for preparing for the STEP English test used in Saudi Arabia. The app is operated by Talk Academy (Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines).
2. Information we collect
You can use the app without signing in. If you do not sign in, your study records are stored on your device only and are not sent to us.
If you sign in with a Google account, we collect:
- The unique identifier of your Google account
- Your email address
- The username you choose yourself
Study data:
- Number of questions answered and accuracy rate
- Estimated score
- Experience points
- Consecutive study days (streak)
- Weak areas
- Mock test scores
Technical information:
- App version
- Device model and operating system
- Error logs
3. Information we do not collect
- Location data
- Contacts
- Photos and files
- Date of birth
- Gender
- National ID or passport numbers
- Payment details — purchases are processed by Google Play, and we never see your card information
4. How we use the information
- Saving your study progress and syncing it across your devices
- Showing your ranking in the weekly league
- Verifying the issuing of scholarship coupons
- Improving question quality and the app itself
- Diagnosing and fixing errors
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell personal information. Sign-in and payments are handled by Google. We disclose information only where we are required to do so by law. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this document and give notice inside the app.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. If you request deletion, we delete it within 30 days. Statistics that have been processed so that no individual can be identified are excluded.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. Deletion is explained on a separate page: Account and Data Deletion.
8. Children and minors
STEP Play is not directed at children. Minors should use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to stored data is restricted to authorised personnel.
10. Changes to this document
If we change this document, we will update the revision date shown at the top of this page. We will notify you inside the app of significant changes.
